Denae was 11 years old the first time she rubbed someone’s shoulders and they told her “you should do this for a living someday”.

Denae graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Sir Sanford Fleming College in 2006, and has been in practice since.

She began her career working in acute rehab and injury management, mainly treating victims of car accidents and workplace injuries, which helped her hone her therapeutic skills. After about 5 years, she decided that she needed to re-focus her practice, and moved into a setting where she could practice injury prevention and maintenance of good health.

Denae is known for her ability to effectively treat her clients’ impairments with techniques that feel gentle and relaxing. She offers treatments for general relaxation, relief of muscle tension and pain, headaches, fascial release, injury prevention and management, frozen shoulder, and prenatal care (which is a passion of hers). She has training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy as well. She is also a Certified Reiki Practitioner and offers Reiki as a stand alone treatment, or incorporated into massage treatments. She has additional training in cupping massage, and Aromatouch™ treatment.

Denae has been working and living in Guelph since 2010, with her husband and two young daughters, and can often be found exploring the trails of Preservation Park during her down time.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy involves a mix of mysofacial release, ligament toning, muscle repatterning, non-HVLA skeletal alignment, cranial osteopathy, nerve, blood vessel and lymphatic treatments, bio-energy treatments and more. This is very useful for aches and pains in your muscles and joints throughout the body as well as dysfunctional health issues with digestion, elimination, breathing and more.

Osteopathy has a unique assessment skill that involves “listening” with our hands. Restrictions in the body pull tissue towards the restriction allowing me to pin point it’s origin. After your history is taken and I have started developing a mental picture of how to start treatment, I will place my hands on your shoulders and feel for the subtle pull of what the body is most needing to be treated first.. Next, in a seated or while on the table, I can hone in on the exact area. This is a quick accurate way to pin point areas of priority that need to be further explored and treated. This is very helpful in many cases where ongoing health complaints continue when the cause of the complaint is nowhere near where the pain or discomfort is.

Frances Turk graduated with Honours in Nutrition and Nutraceutical science at Guelph University, with a minor in Dramatic Arts. She then went on to the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine to pursue her dream of being a Naturopathic Doctor. Frances has a strong interest in the community and is always involved in something to assist those in need. Frances is the founder of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine’s Clown Care Unit, a fun loving troop of clowns that provide comic relief when needed. They are active in local long term care facilities as well as hosting events for children in need right at the college. Frances was awarded the Community Spirit Award by her peers during her graduation at the college, an award she cherishes and holds dear to her heart. Frances’ passion for her patients is to assist them in living healthier lifestyles through nutritional education, but also to empower them to find their healing potentials on their own journey to wellness.

Frances includes in her repertoire of holistic therapies the modalities of Bowen Therapy (a dynamic system of muscle and connective tissue therapy that stimulates the body to heal itself, often profoundly), and intravenous therapy (a method of administering an individually balanced combination of vitamins and minerals directly into the bloodstream). Frances is also a personal trainer and assists individuals in proper resistance exercises to help them maintain their independence with proper posture and strength.

Frances has written articles for SNAP magazine as well as local newspapers, and she is actively speaking in her community about a series of topics including nutrition, internal cleansing, breathing techniques, humour therapy and physical exercise to name a few.
